Volleycamp Announces January Camp

Posted by devo on December 21, 2009

Looking for something different for Christmas? Why not suggest to mum or dad that they enrol you in the next Victorian Volleycamp?

The first camp for 2010 will be held on January 23, 24 & 25 at St Bernard’s College in Essendon.

Volleycamp is an ideal preparation for state team trials and the new volleyball year. The camp is NON-residential, so interstate and regional athletes need to organise to stay with a friend. The very successful MASTERCLASS will again be offered for elite athletes who have already achieved a degree of success. The 2010 Volleycamp enrolment brochure is now available from the Volleycamp website – www.volleycamp.com.au.

Volleycamp Volleyball Scholarship

Posted by devo on December 29, 2007

Volleycamp founder Michael Dolan has announced that Volleycamp will assist up to two athletes who are in need of financial assistance. These athletes will have been identified as potential National Youth or Junior team players (in the eyes of National Team selectors) who might not get the chance to do so otherwise. This will assist athletes to achieve their dreams.

The Scholarship will consist of a combination of services depending on the needs of individual athletes.

Some of the services may include:

  • Financial assistance to give potential National Youth and or Junior squad athletes a chance to attend a camp or tour by offering some financial assistance if they meet set criteria (criteria to be announced) in early 2008
  • Support servces such as Sports Psychology, Strength and Conditioning and or Nutrition
  • One on one coaching
  • Opportunity to attend specialist camps at reduced rates
  • Assistance with sponsorship, proposal writing and advice on how to gain a sponsor

players and coaches from interstate to volleycamp

Posted by devo on November 24, 2007

Volleycamp founder Michael Dolan is pleased that not only young athletes, but also coaches, are making the trip to Victoria from interstate to attend the volleyball camp that is being held in Victoria in January.

Michael  is keen to promote opportunities for up and coming athletes.  He saw that unless athletes were at the National Team level that there is a distinct lack of opportunity to attend elite level camps where intensive skill development occurs. And so he set up Volleycamp. Check out their web site here.

Volleyball camp in January

Volleycamp 2008 For Boys and Girls 13 – 17 years. Jan 25, 26 & 27

MelbourneVolleycamp is an idea founded by Michael Dolan to promote playing Volleyball. Michael has been in the National Junior (Boys) squad coaching team and has coached the Victorian Junior men’s team. Michael saw that unless athletes were at the National Team level that there is a distinct lack of opportunity to attend camps where intensive skill development occurs. So he formulated a plan to create camps as a way of getting athletes access to great coaches and other motivated athletes.

Michael has consulted with experts from a number of fields to ensure this camp will offer an outstanding chance to be exposed to expertise in sport. Michael firmly believes that athletes learn in a variety of ways and with that concept in mind he will ensure athletes have access to video analysis to improve the chance of success for all Volleycamp participants. His formula of sourcing experienced coaches, plus assistant coaches from various clubs will ensure athletes will get a rounded experience. Strength and Conditioning, Nutrition and Sport Psychology consultants compliment the on court technical experience offered by expert coaches.

The camp will be limited in numbers to ensure quality. Interstate athletes are welcome. Several have enrolled already! more detail
