Sverns Awarded National Scholarship

Posted by devo on December 18, 2009

Georgia Sverns, from Upwey High School, has been awarded the 2010 Volleycamp National Scholarship at the closing ceremony of this year’s Australian Volleyball Schools’ Cup. Georgia was selected by the AVF’s Women’s Technical Committee.

A starting setter with the Australian Junior ’92 squad, Georgia is a smart player and natural leader. She is technically advanced with her jump and long ball setting and is a quality jump float server. Michael Dolan, Volleycamp founder, said the cash scholarship is awarded annually, alternating between the male and female squads, and is provided to assist young athletes meet the ever increasing costs of representing their country as a member of an Australian Youth/Junior team.

Congratulations Georgia.
