OZ Volleyball switches sports….

Posted by Robbo on December 16, 2009

Another one of those “It’s not volleyball…” stories.

On the back of the Mens AVL Finals Streaming success (which is still getting hits), the OZ Volleyball team have teamed up with Cricket Australia to help bring you some more Live Australian sport!

You can hear the boys commentating the Futures League T20 Tournament this Thursday. The FLT20 competition is an under-23 competition designed to find some of Australias emerging cricket talent, while also helping to get players ready for the KFC Big Bash tournament after Christmas. Each team is allowed 2 overage players, with the most notable name being Andrew Symonds playing for Queensland.

To see the action, tune in to cricket.com.au/livestream tomorrow with the Bronze playoff being played at 10am and the Gold playoff at 2:45pm.

Would Sketch beat Andrew Symonds in an arm wrestle??

Is Cedric Legrand playing in this?

  3. Congrats Robbo. great to see an altruistic exercise blossom into something that can be monetised.

I’m sure Cricket Australia is gonna give you all the cameras and mixing equipment that will blow your mind!

I’m hoping that WIllunga High School’s Joel Garrett might be playing U23s. He came to AVSC with us in 2005 and frequently makes the Oz junior cricket squads

Cheers Hugh. According to the match reports, Joel has been playing.
We have a similar camera as before and we are providing our mixing equipment, apart from Mics, which we have been provided with those classic commentator lip ones. As was said yesterday, “i wonder how many famous cricketers lips have touched this microphone” hahah

Damn weather. First game between Qld and ACT was marred by some audio issues and Andrew Symons short stint at the crease, and unfortunately by the time they had been rectified the Melbourne weather had reared it’s ugly head and washed out the Final between Tasmania and WA. Stay Tuned for news about our possible involvement with the KFC Big Bash in the new year though.
