This is how VTAM start into the next round at the Asian Men’s Volleyball Championships. Australia have to finish top 2 to advance to the semi-finals. Bottom 2 will see VTAM play off for positions 5 to 8 more

  • Updates: Volleyball Athlete is reporting that VTAM lost to Japan 0-3 (24-26, 18-25, 19-25) ~ VTAM match report
  • Updates: South Korea def Indonesia 3-0 ( 25-17, 25-15, 25-15) – This means that the best that VTAM can do is a third place in Pool F. So Australia will be playing off for 5th to 8th place at this years Asian Men’s Championships.
  • Updates: … it was different this time as Australia only had two players left from that 2007 title-clinching squad that joined hands with those that were elevated from the junior pool. The Aussies opened with a 19-14 lead and seemed headed for an early victory by taking a 24-23 lead … Japan was never threatened after that as their spikers relentlessly found holes from the Australia defense to complete the three-set win. more@GMANews
  • Updates: The Australians used their height advantage to stage an attacking and blocking rampage early on at the first set. On the other side, Japan had to use pin-point attacks to counter Australia’s blocking presence and stay in the game. more@AVC
