Posted by devo on April 23, 2009

The New Zealand men’s volleyball team have got off to a flying start, beating Fiji three sets to nil in their opening game at the Oceania Zone World Championship qualifying event in Porirua.

This is the first time New Zealand has hosted an event of this kind and the first time a New Zealand team has had a chance to qualify for an international volleyball competition. They thrashed Fiji today in straight sets, 25-20, 25-17, 25-17. more@TV3

You can check out a nice TV3 video report of the qualifiers with some game footage. ~ ~
